My day at Feathers Fine Custom Furnishings begins with a steaming cup of coffee and a quick team huddle. As a custom interior designer, no two days are ever the same, which keeps things exciting!
Today’s agenda includes:
- Brainstorming session for a new luxury apartment project
- Client meeting to discuss bespoke furniture options
- Fabric selection for a set of dining chairs
The brainstorming session is particularly invigorating. We’re working on a penthouse with panoramic city views, and the challenge is to create an interior that complements the stunning vistas without overshadowing them.
Afternoon: Workshop Visit and Sketching
After lunch, I head to our on-site workshop to check on the progress of a custom-made coffee table. The craftsmanship of our artisans never ceases to amaze me. Watching raw materials transform into exquisite pieces of furniture is truly magical.
Back at my desk, I spend a couple of hours sketching designs for a client who wants a unique bookshelf that doubles as a room divider. It’s projects like these that really allow our creativity to shine at Feathers Fine Custom Furnishings.
Evening: Design Presentation and Wrap-up
The day concludes with a presentation to a couple who are renovating their beach house. I guide them through our proposed designs, material samples, and 3D renderings. Their excitement is palpable as they see their vision coming to life.
As I pack up for the day, I can’t help but feel grateful for the opportunity to turn people’s homes into personalized havens. Tomorrow brings new challenges and inspirations, and I can’t wait to see what it has in store!
